HALL a/e/c and prior firms of the principal have been recognized with design awards from numerous organizations including the American Institute of Architects, the Institute of Business Designers, the City of Charlotte, the Construction Specifications Institute, the Brick Association of North Carolina, and others. We believe quality architecture can only be accomplished by following a policy of sound design, responsible detailing, and rigorous construction administration. Although recognition by our peers is very gratifying, satisfying the client and the people who ultimately use our buildings is our primary concern.
Our staff includes Certified Construction Specifiers who have won numerous national specification competition awards from the Construction Specifications Institute for the quality of their Project Manuals. The firm uses a sophisticated computerized system in the production of project specifications and our staff participates in the review of national recognized master guide specification systems. Our services include project specifications, firm master specifications, and building product guide specifications.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control
The firm provides peer review services to ensure coordination of construction documents and quality assurance. We often perform special conditions assessments of construction work for quality control compliance with the building code. Our firm's staff have received specialized training in Property Conditions Assessments by ASTM and are Certied Construction Contract Administrators. Issues involving building envelopes such as waterproofing can easily be identified, solved, and communicated to the best contractors in the region for repair. We employ sophisticated diagnostic equipment such as thermographic cameras, unmanned aerial systems (drone), and hygrothermal modeling and energy software.
Construction Litigation Support
From expert testimony to general consulting, we can provide tremendous aid to parties involved in litigation involving construction and architecture. With more than 30-years experience in construction arbitration as an arbitrator, we are often requested to assist in the review and settlement of construction disputes. We work with construction attorneys in the evaluation of claims and issues. This includes acting as a testifying expert witness or as a consultant.
